Jong Do Kim

Originally trained in law, Professor Kim Jong-do shifted his academic focus to Arabic studies, laying the groundwork for the translation and research of Arab statutory law—an area previously underexplored in Korea. Early in his career, he also showed a strong interest in Arabic language pedagogy, developing teaching methods suited to Korean learners and authoring accessible introductory texts that significantly contributed to the dissemination of the language. His Kim Jong-do Arabic Series 1, 2, 3 has become a long-standing bestseller.

He continues to lecture and conduct research in Arab and Islamic cultural studies while actively translating Arab legal texts.
