Jonghwan Choi graduated from the Department of Arabic at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During his military service as an Arabic linguist with the Ministry of National Defense Support Group, he interpreted for visiting Middle Eastern delegations, including the Commander of the Iraqi Ground Forces. He also worked at the Office of the Military Attaché of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Seoul. He reviews contracts and official correspondence in Arabic and works directly with Arabic-speaking counterparties, without an interpreter.

As a public prosecutor, he handled investigations and trials at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, the Goyang Branch of the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office, the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, and the Tongyeong Branch of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office. During the Korean Prosecutor General's visit to Saudi Arabia in December 2023 and the Saudi Attorney General's visit to Korea in May 2024, he attended the meetings between the two heads of prosecution as the accompanying prosecutor and served as Arabic interpreter, supporting talks on extradition, prisoner transfer and other judicial cooperation.

At Yulchon LLC, he handled cross-border corporate matters, including criminal matters at the Middle East branch of a major Korean company and criminal fair-trade (antitrust) issues in Korea for a global company.

As Managing Partner of Hangang Partners Law Firm in Mapo, Seoul, he handles criminal and civil matters and advises businesses. Drawing on his prosecutorial experience and Arabic proficiency, he supports Korean companies and individuals going into the Middle East, and Middle Eastern companies and individuals facing legal issues in Korea, across the full range of legal work, from disputes to contract review and advisory.
